About the event
The Boy Scout swim test is a basic assessment designed to ensure that Scouts have the swimming ability and water safety skills needed for aquatic activities. To pass the test, a Scout must first jump feetfirst into water over their head and fully submerge. They then swim 75 yards using strong, forward strokes such as the front crawl, breaststroke, or sidestroke. After that, they must swim an additional 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke. The entire 100 yards must be completed without stopping. Once finished, the Scout must demonstrate the ability to rest by floating on their back.
